In the Chocolate War Jerry is my favorite character because he's a cool person and isn't scared to face his fears. When the coach asked the football team who would step up for the quarterback Jerry did immediately.Another reason is because he's going through hard times like when his mom became ill and died.I can relate to that because my great grandma is 100 years old and is becoming ill and she keeps faaling down almost every time she stands up.Don't know if she'll be around much longer.I just pray to God she'll be ok. The last reason is that he gets picked on alot and I dont like that. I hate seeing people get bullied. I would have his back and stick up for him if I seen him getting bullied.

My favorite character in "The Chocolate War" is Emile. He is somewhat of a delinquent that dosnt care what anyone thinks. I also liked how he was siphoning gas from the car and when he was caught, he continud to siphon the gas as if it as a normal everyday thing. In story he says "I'm getting my gas for the week."

I disagree with April because Archie is a bad person.He doesn't treat others the way he would want to be treated.He is very mean to Jerry. He's always putting people up to bad stuff. He is disrespectful.

My favorite character in The Chocolate War is Archie, because he is smart and knows how to use his brains for good and bad. I can tell that he has good in him, because he doesn't like to use violence. Although he does get other people to do his dirty work. I also like that he is one step ahead of everyone so he can never lose.

I Disaggre with Chris Because Just Because Someone Is A bAd Person, Doesnt Mean There Not Intresting. For an example Osama Bin laden He is A horible person But yet we keep hearing people talk about him on the radio. Why? Because he is a intresting person. I think Jerry is really boring.

In the Chocolate War Archie is my favorite character ecause he has so much drama in his life. Drama is interesting to me because it makes me want to read more. He also has like two side to him, nice and mean. I think he is a great leader in the Vigils. Archie should stay at the top of the Vigils because he is a good leader.

In the chocolate war my favorite character is Carter. Carter is the president of the vigils and on the varsity football team. and when people think that it is okay to defy the vigils he scares them physically. When that kid cam in and started toying with Archie he made sure that it had to be fixed. And since he is as big as he is Archie made sure it would be done.

ReplyDeleteI Agree with the person(april smith) that said that archie is their favorite character because sometimes drama is kind of a big deal in life. Because i think we all have all kinds of drama in our liffe so i agree with that person. And archie does have 2 personalities. he has his mean side and he also has his good side. And i think we all have those moments in our lifes.! We prolly dont have 2 personalities but sometimes we act like 2 different people that doesnt necessarily mean that we have 2 different personalities. So that is my opinion to his/her comment.!
ReplyDeleteAnthony, i totally agree that emile is a beast of a delinquent, and wouldnt want it any other way. Everyone else is kind of the typical kids at school in my opinion. Archie said it right when he said that emile was a special kind of person and that what he does is "beautiful". Anytime when you can steqal someones gas out of their car and then be mad that they didnt catch you, is a beautiful time. He obviously loves confrintation and the fact that every one knows better than to mess with him.

My favorite character in The Chocolate War would have to be Emile Ganza. He is not only a troublemkaer by nature but he also goes out of his way to punk people. He is not a "bully" persay but he definitely isnt looking out for the little guys. He likes confrintaion and the satisfaction of being in a situation where someone will coware down to him, for the simple fact that no one wantes to mess with him. I feel that his importantce to the plot has more to do with the fact that he is one of the few people that isnt a Vigil but is still feared widely and still shows the most respect to Arcghie Costello. Much of that has to do with the fact that Archie is black mailing Emile with a photo of Emile, which in actuallity doiesnt exist. Emile is just one of Arhcies pawns in this lifesized game of chess, and the fact that Archie has something that is of such importantce to Emile makes their relationship all the more vital to Archie's plan.

My favorite character would probably have to be Archie. He has a big part about in this book, like help Jerry learn a lesson. Archie is my favorite character because he is different and can plan ahead of time. He also knows what he wants, and when he gets the chance, he takes it. Archie is like one of those people that try to be something their not. Thats why i like him, he's interesting.

I would have to agree with Kevineshia. Jerry is one of those people that think that enough is enough. He's his own person and doesn't let anyone bring him down. He sticks up for the people he cares about.

My favorite character is Archie. Because of his power and how he is always one step ahead of every one. Especially how every time it comes down to the black box he gets a white instead of a black marble. Now that i think about it without Archie none of this would have happened.But what really got me was how he didn't get in trouble at the end. He just got a jaquez speech and that was it.

I do to feel like i'm in a rut doing nothing with my life some times. I also want to do something important and not just kinda drift through it doing nothing and not having fun. ReplyDeleteArchie is my favorite character. He is so witty, and funny, but such a "bastard" at the same time. People either love or hate him. Sometimes both. I love Obie and Archie's relationship. Its funny bow they act like they hate one another, but in all reality.. they couldn't live with out each other. I also love how important Archie is to The Vigils. He realizes it and almost abuses the power. Usually if any body else did that, i'd resent them, but it just looks so good on Archie. He always manages to regain power when it is lost. Almost everyone fears him, even Brother Leon. In the book I noticed Archie being compassionate and caring at times, I really admire that. He takes his work seriously.

My favorite character is Jerry Renult, cause he is not afraid to do something different. one way he showed this was by not selling the chocolates. I also like him cause he’s never scared. i know this cause in the book he stood up to the vigils and the school. those are the reasons why i like Jerry Renault.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite charecter in this book is Obie, he is one of the most down to earth charecters in the whole book. He wants karama to get archie back for all the stuff he does to others. Also he seems above all of "The Vigils" schemes. The only reason he really does stuff for them is so he can stay out of there path when assignements come. Also without him letting us in on little secrets this book would be a lot more confusing!

In the book my favorite character is Jerry. What i like about him is he doesnt care what anyone thinks. He does what he wants even if other people dont like it. He keeps saying no to selling the chocolates even though he knows how mad it make evryone else. I love how he walks around with that attitude and really just doesnt care.

I would have to say Archie is my favorite character because he keeps things cool and calm and under conrol. His significance to the plot is he was the person who controlled the school. With out him there would be chaos and Jerry wouldnt have gotten what he got. Archie is a significant to the story to set up the whole story and how it came to be with the assignments and the vigils. I think Archie is most intresting to me becuase he is very respected through out the school even though he is not very big or tough. He has the power to do anything in the school this is why is why I take intrest in him.

i dont like Jerry Renault because he sounds like a loser. he passed out at the football tryouts. when he waits for his bus, he sits infront of a store and watches a group of people everyday. He doesnt make his own decisions. He didnt want to sell the chocolate because the group of people he watches everyday told him not to be a square. i think he should make his own decisions.

my favorite character was asrchie as well. like april said he was one of the most intresting to read about. he made his own decisions and even other peoples decisions, because he was cool like that. people were either intimidated or scared by him, and he manipulated people who got in his way. and i thought that was intresting to read about, he was mean and everything but intresting.
